Why MOSAIC?
The FAA Part 22 MOSAIC Rule is the most significant update to light recreational aircraft regulation in decades. For ILIOS Aerospace, it's the foundation of our design philosophy, allowing us to deliver an aircraft that is safer, more capable, and ultimately more valuable to our customers than previous LSA designs.

01
Design for Safety & Comfort
By eliminating the restrictive weight limit, we can build a more robust airframe, integrate advanced safety features (like whole-airframe parachutes), and add enhanced soundproofing and cabin comfort—all previously hindered by the 1,320 lb. cap.
02
Performance and Utility Expansion
The new rule allows for higher performance capabilities, including increased stall speeds and the potential for a maximum of four seats. This transforms the LSA category from a pure recreational plane into a true cross-country traveler and flight training platform.

03
Innovation in Propulsion
MOSAIC opens the door for integrating modern, sustainable power solutions. This includes hybrid or electric propulsion systems, aligning with our mission to create a sustainable aircraft and providing future-proof technology.
04
Faster, More Flexible Certification
Utilizing the consensus-standard certification pathway under the new Part 22 framework allows ILIOS Aerospace to bring our high-quality aircraft to market more cost-efficiently and rapidly than traditional, expensive Type Certificate routes.
